Stevensville, MI

Th Senate of the State of Michigan proclaimed the Village of Stevensville a chartered village in March of 1893. Founded by Thomas L. Stevens, the area owes much of its heritage to the Chicago and West Michigan Lake Shore Railroad Company hence, the area's moniker – Lakeshore. Stevensville is located where I-94 and Red Arrow Hwy intersect south of St. Joseph, Michigan.

Primarly an agricultrual community, it is also home of Grand Mere State Park with Over 1,000 acres of beautiful undeveloped woods and sand dunes. There are 985 acres of hiking trails, over 1 mile of Lake Michigan beach for sunbathing and swimming, three geologically ancient lakes behind the dunes, picnic shelter and cross country skiing trails. The park is "dog friendly" (dogs on a leash are allowed within the beach and swimming area) and it is is seasonally open to hunting and fishing.
